Introduction
Attached is a PDF of a 2017 study on sexism in schools, sourced from the National Education Union and UK Feminista. It includes statistics regarding sexual harassment and sexist behavior found in secondary schools located in the United Kingdom. Our September 20th meeting touched on misogyny in schools; excerpts of the information found in the study were used.
As seen in the abstract, 37% of female students reported that they had been sexually harassed on campus, along with this 66% of female students reported witnessing the use of sexist language. The study goes into detail breaking down such statistics, while simultaneously proposing possible solutions schools could incorporate.
